vineyard vines® by Oak Hall

When a store like Oak Hall has been around for 148 years, it would come as no surprise that literally millions of decisions affecting the business have been made over the years. One of the best decisions ever made was to move to Regalia in 1996. Since that time, some clothing collections have fallen by the wayside while others have grown and prospered. Few, however, have grown and prospered and exhibited more potential than vineyard vines®.

We first introduced the colorful, fun, coastal-themed vineyard vines® neckwear to Oak Hall customers in 2002. They were an instant hit. Demand grew for more items. Next came the now very recognizable whale logo on knit shirts. Shorts and swimwear soon followed. The line grew by leaps and bounds as its popularity began to soar. Slacks, sport shirts, jackets and even boxer shorts for men were joined by women’s wear and also clothes for children.

Even though Oak Hall is 26,000 square feet in size, the time came when we realized we couldn’t effectively display the scope of the vineyard vines® collection due to space constraints of the store. A solution? What if we partnered with Shep and Ian Murray, the co-founders and CEO’s of vineyard vines®, to open an exclusive vineyard vines® store in Memphis? vineyard vines® by Oak Hall was born. What better location could we have than in Regalia became the consensus choice.

While Oak Hall will continue to carry vineyard vines® merchandise, the new 6,000 square foot store will provide the opportunity to showcase the vineyard vines® lifestyle in its entirety with the complete collection for not only men and women but children and toddlers as well. What is so exciting to us about this is that Oak Hall’s legacy of serving generation upon generation will now continue with a new twist: clothes that simultaneously transcend every generation, both male and female, from toddlers to their great-grandparents.

We’re thrilled to join with our friends, Shep and Ian, who share our firm commitment for excellence in quality and customer service – principles that Oak Hall was founded on in 1859 that will now be a part of not one but two stores. We’re confident that vineyard vines® by Oak Hall will thrive thanks to the same retail and entrepreneurial spirit that links our two families. We look forward to a successful, long-lasting partnership that will provide a truly unique shopping experience for the people of Memphis and the Mid-South area to enjoy.
